The Look

This is the executive office of the late 2000s. It defined the cabin of the CTS, SRX, and STS during Cadillac's sharp-edged reinvention. It isn't a dull, flat primer gray. It's sophisticated. It's clean. In the sunlight, it gives the interior an airy, open feel. In the shade, it looks expensive. Because it's a lighter shade, it shows every bit of coffee spill or skin oil. If you are touching up a high-traffic area like a door handle or a center console, clean the surface twice. Then clean it again.

Technical Details

Don't let the "Gray" name fool you. This finish contains a very fine metallic flake. That flake gives the plastic and trim a factory shimmer, but it creates a trap for the person holding the Nozzle. If you apply it too heavy, the metallic bits sink and the color turns dark and muddy. If you apply it too light, it feels like sandpaper. It's a balance. You want just enough Flow to let the paint lay flat without soaking the surface.

Best Practices

Before you spray or dab Cadillac Light Gray (Interior) (check for code WA9781), you need to find your Service Parts Identification sticker to verify the match. On the CTS and STS, look under the spare tire cover in the trunk. For the SRX, check the underside of the rear storage lid. Once you have the match, shake the Nozzle or Pen for two full minutes. The metallics in this mix love to settle at the bottom. Test the color on the included card to ensure the flakes are suspended properly. Work in a Garage to avoid dust. Apply three thin layers rather than one thick one. Give it ten minutes of Drying time between passes. Keep the container moving at all times to avoid "tiger stripes" in the metallic grain.
