Technical Details

This is a mica metallic finish, which means it contains tiny reflective particles that give the paint depth and a slight shimmer in direct light. The challenge with mica paints is that the particles are heavy and love to clump together. If you apply the paint too heavily in one spot, you might see dark patches or "tiger stripes" where the metallic flakes have bunched up. To get a clean match, you have to build the color with several thin passes rather than trying to cover the damage in one go.

Best Practices

You can usually find your identification plate on the radiator support bar or the firewall under the hood. Before you spray or dab Daewoo Midnight Blue (check for code 30U), you need to shake it for 60 seconds to ensure the mica flakes are fully suspended. Test the color on the included card first to see how it reacts to your current clear coat.
