This is the quintessential Italian black. It is a deep, jet-colored finish that has defined the Fiat lineup for decades. Whether you are touching up a classic 124 Spider or a modern 500X, this color provides a mirror-like depth that smaller cars need to look sharp and sophisticated. It doesn't rely on sparkles or tricks to grab attention. Instead, it uses pure pigment to create a heavy, ink-like appearance on the road. Technical Details

You are working with a solid finish. Unlike many modern paints, this one contains zero metallic flakes or pearl additives. Before you spray or dab Fiat Nero (check for code 601), you need to shake it for 60 seconds to ensure the pigment is perfectly distributed. The benefit of a solid color is that you do not have to worry about metallic particles laying down unevenly or creating stripes. However, black is the most honest color in the world. It will show every tiny ripple or piece of dust in your garage. Because it is so dark, any light-colored primer or old scratches will stand out, so your coverage needs to be thorough.

Best Practices

You can find your paint code on a silver sticker located on the driver's side door jamb or the underside of the trunk lid. Before applying anything to your car, test the color on the included card to confirm the shade matches your current finish. If you are using a can, maintain a consistent spray distance and keep the container moving to prevent the paint from pooling. If you are using a pen or brush, apply the paint in thin, deliberate layers rather than one heavy glob. This pigment is thick, so give it plenty of drying time between applications. Once the repair is level with the rest of the panel, a light polish will help the new paint blend into the original surface.
