Infiniti paint color codes are always on the drivers door jamb; some require getting pretty low on the drivers door jamb to read, but the code is easy to read. Typical format: AX6. AX6 corresponds to Redline Clearcoat. Same Color Code, Different Name: Infiniti uses the exact same color across many models with different names, so the color code is important. This is a metallic finish, which means it is packed with microscopic flakes designed to reflect light. These flakes are heavier than the paint pigment itself and love to settle at the bottom of your container. If you do not mix them thoroughly, the touch-up will look like a flat, muddy brown instead of the shimmering finish on your door or hood. Dark metallics are also prone to mottling, where the flakes cluster together and create dark, uneven spots. You want those flakes to lay down flat and even to maintain that factory shimmer.

Best Practices

You can find your paint code on the driver's side door jamb, usually at the bottom of the manufacturer sticker under the heading for color. Before you spray or dab Infiniti Brown Metallic (check for code CAN), you need to shake it for 60 seconds. This is the only way to get those metallic flakes back into the mix. Test the color on the included card to see how the metallic behaves before you touch the car. When applying the paint, keep the container moving to ensure the flakes spread out rather than bunching up. Give the area plenty of drying time between thin layers to prevent the finish from looking thick or textured.

Will absolutely order from this company again. Reason I chose this business: Lexus collision repair and a local collision repair. Will use paint less dent removal and touch up chipped paint myself. Reason I chose this product: Spouse sideswiped passenger side of car while backing out of garage. Mostly plastic transfer from his wheel well trim but pressure creased and cracked the paint causing a bare strip 1/8 wide x 4” long below door handle. Scratches on door handle and a few small chips on both doors.

Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans

Used Paint Scratch metallic custom mixed spray cans paint on a hood panel with excellent coverage and texture over the surface. Metallic paint can be very unforgiving out of a spray can, sputtering pigmentation dots on the panel being sprayed and thus ruining the paint job. No such issues with Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint spray cans. Paint sprayed strong and evenly till the last drop of paint in the can. Shipping time was faster than expected. Reason I chose this business: Having tried other brands of custom mixed metallic paint with terrible results, sputtering pigmentation tint dots from the spray nozzle in spite of vigorously shaking of can prior to application and loss of propellant rendering the lower fifth of the can's paint useless, Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint sprays out beautifully and strong all the way to the last gram of paint in the can.
