What to Watch For

Before you pop the cap on your paint pen, you need to find your "Birth Certificate"-the paint code. On the RS-5, this is usually tucked away in the trunk. Lift the floor carpet and look near the spare tire well for a white paper sticker filled with three-digit codes. You're looking for a code like "LY9C" or "LX7W."

In terms of wear, that low-slung RS-5 nose is a literal magnet for road debris. Because Audi's clear coat can be a bit sensitive, those tiny "pepper marks" on the front bumper can lead to the edges of the paint lifting if left exposed to the elements. Catching them early is the difference between a five-minute fix and a much larger headache later.
