Cadillac ATS Paint Info
The Color Breakdown
Cadillac didn't just give the ATS a palette; they gave it a personality. With 89 recorded colors, they really went for it. You'll find everything from the classic Black Raven to the pun-heavy favorites like Black Meet Kettle Pearl, You Drive Me Grazy Pearl, and the elusive Mary Kay Pink Tricoat. Whether your ATS is dressed in a sophisticated Abalone White or the bold Limited Addiction Pearl, Cadillac made sure this car looked like it was moving even when it was parked in your driveway.
What to Watch For
Before you get started, you need to find your "Service Parts Identification" sticker. On the ATS, this is usually a silver or white label hidden in the glove box or tucked under the trunk carpet near the spare tire well (or where the spare tire would be). Look for a code starting with "WA" or "U"-that's your golden ticket.
Keep an eye on the front nose and the hood; the ATS is a bit of a "rock magnet," and the paint on the leading edges can be prone to small, sharp chips. You might also notice some minor flaking on the black trim pieces between the windows or near the rear glass. Don't worry, though-these are exactly the kind of battle scars a DIY touch-up was made to handle.
Driveway Repair Tip
Since so many ATS colors are pearls or tricoats (looking at you, White Diamond and Crystal Claret), your bottle of paint is packed with specialized flakes that love to settle at the bottom. Give that bottle a serious workout-shake it for at least 60 seconds until you hear the mixing ball rattling like a maraca.
When you're filling a chip, remember that Cadillac's factory finish is surprisingly thin. Instead of using the giant brush that comes in the cap, grab a wooden toothpick. Use the tip to drop a tiny bead of paint into the center of the chip and let it spread out on its own. It requires some patience, but building up two thin layers is always better than one big, gloppy mountain of paint that never dries right.
