How to Find Your 2023 Chrysler's Color Code

Chrysler paint codes can be difficult to find. In the good old days, they were on top of the radiator support, often hidden under engine grease and oil. Later models put them on the drivers door jamb. Typical format: BS/GBS, but only BS is the color code; it can also appear as QBS, PBS, TBS, etc., with the first letter as a confusing "Year Code." BS corresponds to Deep Water Blue Pearl Clearcoat; the G in GBS is not part of the color code.

2023 Chrysler Background Info

The 2023 Chrysler Vibe

By 2023, the automotive world was holding its breath. Chrysler decided to give the legendary 300 Series a final, 485-horsepower scream with the 300C, while the Pacifica and Voyager stayed busy hauling the next generation to soccer practice. We've cataloged 13 colors from this swan-song year, and it's a wild mix of "look at me" pearls and "stealth mode" grays. You've got the heavy hitters like Velvet Red Pearl and Fathom Blue Pearl, but the real talk of the town was Ceramic Gray-that flat, non-metallic look that makes a minivan look like it was built in a bunker. Whether you're rocking Frost Bite Pearl or the moody Sinamon Stick Metallic, these cars were designed to go out with style.

Paint Health Check

Welcome to the Thin Paint Era. Back in the day, we'd spray enough lacquer to submerge a goldfish, but by 2023, "Robot Efficiency" became the law of the land. The factory clear coat on these Chryslers is applied with surgical-and stingy-precision. It looks fantastic under the showroom LEDs, but it's brittle. If you've spent any time on the highway in your 300 or Pacifica, you've likely noticed that the front fascia collects rock chips like a magnet. Because the clear is so thin, those chips can lead to localized delamination if you don't catch them early. And don't get me started on the "orange peel"-that wavy texture in the reflection is a hallmark of high-speed factory robots trying to save a nickel on every hood.

Restoration Tip

When you're touching up a 2023 finish, remember: build layers slowly; don't blob it. These modern pearls and high-metallic shades, especially something like Atomic Silver or Frost Bite, are sensitive to depth. If you drop a giant bead of paint into a chip, the metallic flakes will "flop" (sink to the bottom), and your repair will look like a dark bruise instead of a seamless match. Use several micro-coats, letting each one tack up, until you're just flush with the original clear. It takes patience, but it's the only way to beat the robots at their own game.
