How to Find Your Chrysler Town & Country's Color Code

Chrysler paint codes can be difficult to find. In the good old days, they were on top of the radiator support, often hidden under engine grease and oil. Later models put them on the drivers door jamb. Typical format: BS/GBS, but only BS is the color code; it can also appear as QBS, PBS, TBS, etc., with the first letter as a confusing "Year Code." BS corresponds to Deep Water Blue Pearl Clearcoat; the G in GBS is not part of the color code.

The Color Breakdown

Chrysler didn't just make a minivan; they made a rolling canvas. With 56 colors recorded over the years, the Town & Country has seen everything from the sophisticated Bright Silver Metallic and Billet Metallic to the "I-need-a-venti-latte" Mocha Java Pearl. They really went for it with the "Effect" and "Pearl" finishes-giving suburban driveways a bit more sparkle than your average grocery getter. Whether you're rocking the deep Deep Cherry or the classic Bright White, there is a lot of personality packed into those sliding doors.

What to Watch For

Your Town & Country is a workhorse, but even the best draft horses get a little ragged around the edges. Keep a close eye on the front edge of your hood; because those hoods are often made of aluminum, you might see some small "pimples" or bubbles forming under the paint. It's a common quirk, but catching those spots early with a touch-up pen keeps them from turning into a larger flake-off. To make sure you've got the right match, open your driver's side door and look at the silver or white sticker on the jamb. You're looking for a three-digit code next to the letters "PNT"-that's your golden ticket to a perfect match.

Driveway Repair Tip

Since Chrysler loved using Pearl and Metallic finishes (like that Sapphire Crystal Pearl), your touch-up bottle is actually holding a tiny galaxy of metallic flakes. These flakes like to settle at the bottom like sediment in a river. Before you even think about touching the car, shake that bottle for at least two full minutes. If you think you've shaken it enough, shake it for 30 more seconds. When applying, use the "dap" method-just a tiny drop in the center of the chip-and let the paint flow out to the edges on its own. Two thin coats are always better than one big, gloopy mountain of paint!
