If your Durango or Ram spent its life under the Texas sun, you might be seeing the clear coat start to get a little "cloudy" or "chalky" on the roof. Even worse, those aluminum hoods on the Challenger and Charger are notorious for "micro-bubbles" where the paint decides it doesn't want to be friends with the metal anymore. When you're touching up a 2015, remember: the robot was stingy, so you shouldn't be. Because the factory coats are so thin, you have very little room for error if you start sanding. If you're fixing a chip in Phantom Black or Redline Pearl, don't just "blob" the paint in and hope for the best. Build your layers slowly. Apply a thin coat of color, let it flash, and repeat until you've filled the crater. When it comes time to level it off, use the finest grit possible-think 2000 or 3000-and a light touch.
