Eagle Talon Paint Info
The Color Breakdown
Eagle really went for it back in the day, giving us 16 distinct ways to make a statement. They leaned hard into the 90s "Pearl" obsession, with names like Spanish Olive Pearl and Paprika Red Pearl that sound more like a high-end tapas menu than a paint catalog. Whether you're rocking the moody Dark Plum Pearl or the classic Bright White, these colors were designed to catch the light and turn heads at the local meet.
What to Watch For
If you're seeing some "ghosting" or flaky white bits on your roof, hood, or spoiler, don't panic-you've just got a classic case of the 90s Clear Coat Blues. The factory clear coat on these Talons tends to get a bit tired after thirty years under the sun. Before you start, hunt down your paint code: you'll usually find it on a metal tag on the firewall (check the center or passenger side of the engine bay) or on a sticker inside the driver's side door jamb. It's often a three-digit code, but the last two digits are usually the "secret sauce" you need to match your bottle.
Driveway Repair Tip
Since so many Eagle colors are Pearls or Metallics, your biggest challenge isn't the color-it's the sparkles. Those tiny metallic flakes like to settle at the bottom of the bottle like sand. Give your touch-up pen or bottle a vigorous shake for a full 60 seconds (set a timer!) to wake those flakes up. When applying, think "thin and patient." Dab a tiny amount into the chip and let it settle. If you try to fill a deep crater with one giant blob, it'll look like a mountain on your hood. Two thin layers will always look better than one thick one.
