How to Find Your 2005 Fleetwood's Color Code

The Fleetwood paint color code is obtained by contacting Fleetwood to determine the color code. If there is no color code, the alternative reference is the PPG or Dupont (Axalta) paint formula number. In practice, the search goes first to Fleetwood for a color code and, if none exists, to the PPG or Dupont (Axalta) paint formula number as the reference.

2005 Fleetwood Background Info

The 2005 Fleetwood Vibe

Welcome to 2005: the year the "Rolling Mansion" went mainstream. Fleetwood wasn't just building motorhomes; they were building statement pieces. While the rest of the world was stuck in boring black and white, Fleetwood's designers were clearly let loose in the paint vault with 62 different color codes. We're talking about an era where "Champagne Pearl" and "Cashmere Beige Metallic" were the height of luxury at every RV park from Sedona to the Keys. Whether you're piloting a Discovery or a Bounder, you're likely sporting a sophisticated palette of metallics like Bordeaux Red or Mendocino Grey. It was the peak of the "Neutral-but-Expensive" look, designed to shimmer under the park lights while you leveled your jacks.

Paint Health Check

Now, here's the reality check from the booth. Your 2005 rig is an prime graduate of The Peeling Era. By the mid-2000s, everyone was using two-stage basecoat/clearcoat systems. On a massive fiberglass coach, that clear coat is your best friend-until it isn't. After twenty years of bake-and-freeze cycles, the clear coat on those roof radius turns and front caps is likely looking like a sunburnt tourist. Once the bond lets go, you get "Delamination." It starts as a small white bubble or a flake the size of a nickel, but if you ignore it, the wind will peel that clear coat back like a cheap sticker. If you see your Swedish Blue Metallic starting to look "ashy" or flaky, the clock is officially ticking.

Restoration Tip

If you've still got most of your clear coat intact, don't wait for the sky to fall. The secret to surviving this era is to seal your chips immediately. If a rock catches your Iron Gray Metallic hood, that chip creates an "edge" where moisture and air can get under the clear. Once the clear lifts, it's a runaway train. Use a high-quality solvent-borne touch-up to seal the crater and "glue" the surrounding clear coat down. If you already have a small area of peeling, lightly sand the "cliff" where the clear meets the basecoat with 800-grit to stop the spread before you reshoot. Think of it as a bandage for your paint-keep the edges sealed, or the whole panel is going to need a total strip-down.
