What to Watch For

Because the Suburban is essentially a small apartment building on wheels, it has massive horizontal surfaces that live under the sun all day. Keep a close eye on the hood and the roof; these models are well-known for the "GM Peel," where the clear coat can start to bubble or flake off in small sections. Before you start dabbing, you need your "secret recipe" code. Head to the passenger side and open the glove box. You're looking for a white or silver "Service Parts Identification" sticker. Look for a code at the bottom that starts with "WA"-that's the DNA of your paint.
