Hummer H1 Paint Info
The Color Breakdown
The Hummer H1 is a glorious contradiction: a military-grade tank that eventually found its way into suburban driveways. To match that range, they gave us 25 recorded colors. On one end of the spectrum, you have the "I'm here to work" shades like Moss Green Pearl and Civilian Black. On the other, they really went for it with "look-at-me" tones like Competition Yellow, Firehouse Red, and the surprisingly elegant Ocean Blue Metallic. Whether yours is dressed in camo-adjacent green or high-visibility yellow, it's a lot of surface area to keep pretty.
What to Watch For
Before you start dabbing, you need to find your "birth certificate"-the paint code. On an H1, you'll usually find this on the driver's door jamb or the lower sail panel. Look for a three-digit code or a GM-style "WA" number. As for wear and tear, remember that the H1 is essentially a heavy-duty sandwich of steel and aluminum. Keep a close eye on the seams where the steel roof meets the aluminum body and around those beefy door hinges; paint tends to bubble or lift in those spots first. Because this truck has the aerodynamics of a brick, the front hood is also a magnet for rock chips.
Driveway Repair Tip
When you're using your touch-up pen or brush, remember that many H1 colors-like Desert Sunset Pearl or Silver Metallic-are packed with tiny flakes that like to settle at the bottom of the bottle. Shake that paint for a full 60 seconds (set a timer!) to wake up the sparkles. If you're filling a deep rock chip on that massive hood, resist the urge to fill it in one go. Apply a thin layer, let it dry for 15 minutes, and come back for a second pass. It requires a bit of patience, but it'll look much cleaner than a single giant blob of paint.
