Hyundai Entourage Paint Info
The Color Breakdown
Hyundai didn't hold back when naming the palette for the Entourage. They gave us 9 colors that sound more like a luxury spa menu than a minivan lineup. We're talking about everything from the deep Velvet Indigo Blue Pearl and South Pacific Blue Metallic to the surprisingly festive Cranberry Red Metallic. They really went for it with the descriptions, trying to ensure that even if you're just headed to soccer practice, you're doing it in "Stardust" or "Cosmic" style.
What to Watch For
Before you get started, pop open the driver's door and look at the jamb or the center pillar. You'll find a sticker there with your paint code-usually a two-character combo like UD for Cosmic White or 6C for Stardust Silver. Now, for the honest truth: these vans have a bit of a reputation for "the great escape." Specifically, the Cosmic White and some of the silver metallics are known to peel or flake away from the primer, especially on the hood and roof. If you see the paint starting to lift like a sunburned shoulder, don't panic-just catch it early with your touch-up kit before the "peel" decides to take over the whole panel.
Driveway Repair Tip
Because the Entourage features fancy finishes like Velvet Indigo Blue Pearl, those sparkles tend to settle at the bottom of the bottle while sitting on a shelf. Shake that touch-up pen or bottle for at least 60 seconds-longer than you think you need to-to wake up the metallic flakes. When you apply the paint, resist the urge to fill the whole chip in one go. Dabs, not globs! Use thin layers and wait a few minutes between them. If you're dealing with a spot that has already started to flake at the edges, focus on "sealing" the edge of the good paint with your brush to keep the weather from getting underneath and lifting more of it. It requires a little patience, but your driveway results will look miles better than a giant paint scab.
