What to Watch For

Before you start, you need to find your "DNA" (the paint code). For the I35, Infiniti liked to play hide-and-seek; you'll usually find the code on a metal plate located right in the center of the firewall (the wall behind the engine) or on the driver's side door jamb. Look for a three-character code like "KH3" or "QX1."

In terms of reality, these cars are known for having a slightly "soft" finish. This means they take a hit from road debris easily, especially on the nose and the front of the hood.
