How to Find Your 2005 Itasca's Color Code

Itasca can determine the color code. If there is no color code, the PPG or Dupont (Axalta) paint formula number serves as the reference.

2005 Itasca Background Info

The 2005 Itasca Vibe

Welcome to 2005, the year when motorhomes decided they didn't want to look like refrigerators anymore. It was the era of the "Earth Tone Explosion," where the Suncruiser and Sunova dominated the highways in a sea of sophisticated neutrals. We've got the survivors of that era locked into our database-all 7 of 'em. Whether you're rocking the Antique Sage Pearl Metallic or the ubiquitous Arizona Beige, these colors were designed to blend into a Sedona sunset. It was a time when a metallic finish meant you had arrived, and your Itasca was a rolling testament to the glory of clear-coated glory.

Paint Health Check

Here's the cold, hard truth from the spray booth: you are living in the tail end of The Peeling Era. By 2005, the industry had mastered the look of basecoat/clearcoat, but the "bond" was still a fickle mistress. If your Horizon or Spirit has spent its life baking in the Florida sun, you're likely seeing "Delamination"-that's painter-speak for your clear coat shedding like a sunburned tourist. It usually starts on the roof radii or the front cap where the wind and grit sand away the protection. Once that clear lifts, the pigment underneath is defenseless; it'll go from "Metallic Pearl" to "Chalky Mess" faster than you can find a level campsite.

Restoration Tip

If you spot a chip in that Gray Metallic or Silver finish, do not wait for the weekend. In this era of paint, a chip isn't just a cosmetic blemish; it's an invitation for moisture to get under the clear coat and start prying it off the base. Seal those chips immediately. Use a fine-tipped brush or a toothpick to fill the void. If the clear has already started to lift at the edges, you need to carefully feather-sand the "shelf" of the peeling area with 1000-grit before applying your touch-up. You want to stop the "creep" before your entire sidewall looks like a map of the moon.
