How to Find Your 2007 Itasca's Color Code

Itasca can determine the color code. If there is no color code, the PPG or Dupont (Axalta) paint formula number serves as the reference.

2007 Itasca Background Info

The 2007 Itasca Vibe

Welcome to 2007, the year the RV industry decided "Beige" wasn't just a color-it was a lifestyle. Whether you were piloting a top-tier Ellipse, a dependable Suncruiser, or a nimble Spirit, your coach likely looked like it was designed to blend perfectly into an Arizona sunset. With a whopping 15 colors in our database for this year, you'd think there was variety, but let's be honest: between Arizona Beige, Med. Parchment, and Light Beige, the 2007 Itasca lineup was a masterclass in desert-camouflaged luxury. It was a dignified, clean look, but it came right at the dawn of the "Robot Era."

Paint Health Check

By 2007, the factories had fully surrendered to the robots. This means your Itasca was painted with surgical "Robot Efficiency." Back in the day, a human might accidentally give you an extra-thick coat if they liked the song on the radio; by 2007, the clear coat was applied with the thinness of a budget hotel's napkins. This is the Thin Paint Era.

The common culprit for these coaches is clear coat delamination, particularly on the roof radiuses (where the sidewall meets the roof) and the front caps. If you see the clear starting to flake off like a bad sunburn, you're looking at clear coat failure. Also, watch out for "checking"-those tiny spiderweb cracks in the dark sections of your Gray Metallic or Dark Green. That's the fiberglass underneath getting cooked by the sun because the paint layers weren't thick enough to provide a thermal barrier.

Restoration Tip

When you're touching up a 2007 rig, your mantra is: "Build, don't blob." Because these factory coats are so thin, you have very little room to aggressively buff or sand if you over-apply. If you try to "level" a giant blob of touch-up paint with a heavy compound, you'll burn through the surrounding factory clear coat before you even flatten the repair.

Apply the base color in thin, translucent layers, allowing them to flash off (dry) fully between coats. Once the color is solid, apply your clear coat just enough to stay level with the surrounding area. Since the 2007 clear is already thin, a surgical application saves you from having to sand away the life of the surrounding paint later.
