The color palette followed suit, moving away from the loud graphics of the early 2000s toward a more muted, nature-adjacent aesthetic. With 14 colors in our vault, it's clear Itasca wanted you to blend into the National Park scenery. We're talking about "Stealth Luxury" tones like Seafoam, Light Olive, and the ever-present Pewter Pearl Metallic. It was a time of earthy sophistication-essentially, a high-end condo on wheels that looked like it belonged next to a redwood tree.

Paint Health Check

We are firmly in the Thin Paint Era. By 2015, the factory robots in Forest City were so efficient they could probably paint a whole Sunstar with a single thimble of pigment. The finish looks spectacular when it's new, but there's very little "meat on the bone." The clear coat on these rigs is particularly susceptible to UV damage on the upper radius and roof caps. If you've got one of the darker metallics like Black Garnet or Dark Cherry, you've likely noticed the sun treats that thin clear coat like an all-you-can-eat buffet. Without regular sealing, that "Robot Efficiency" starts to look like a bad sunburn, leading to delamination where the clear simply gives up and flakes off in sheets.

Restoration Tip

When you're touching up a 2015 finish, you have to respect the robot that put it there. Because the factory coats are so thin, a giant "blob" of touch-up paint will stick out like a sore thumb. Build your layers slowly. Apply a thin coat, let it flash off, and repeat until the chip is level with the surrounding surface. If you try to fill a deep crater in one shot, the solvent won't escape correctly, and you'll end up with a soft, dull mess that doesn't match the crisp factory look. Be patient-precision is the only way to beat the machines.
