How to Find Your Jaguar I-Pace's Color Code

Jaguar paint color codes are usually on the drivers door jamb. On older Jaguar models, the color code can be ANYWHERE! Under the hood, in the trunk. Typical format: 1957/HGZ, which corresponds to Jaguar Racing Green Pearl. Some Jaguars will have the 1957 code but most will only show the HGZ code. Same color across models may have different names: Racing Clearcoat, Green Performance Clearcoat, etc. It's the same paint!

The Color Breakdown

Jaguar didn't hold back with the I-Pace, giving us a massive library of 32 recorded colors. They really leaned into the "stealth luxury" vibe, offering what feels like 50 shades of sophisticated grit, from Ammonite Grey Metallic to Carpathian Grey. But if you're feeling bold, they also gave us head-turners like Italian Racing Red Pearl and the electrifying Caesium Blue. Whether you're driving a Polaris White cloud or a Santorini Black shadow, these colors are designed to catch the light-which, unfortunately, makes every little stone chip look like a crater on the moon.

What to Watch For

Before you start, you need the "secret sauce" code. On the I-Pace, you'll usually find your paint code on the driver's side door jamb, right at the bottom of the VIN sticker. Look for a three-letter code like "CAH" or "NAK."

Here's the honest truth: Jaguar paint is famously beautiful but can be a bit "soft," meaning it picks up road rash faster than an off-road buggy. Those stunning reds and deep pearls are also sensitive to the sun; you might notice the clear coat feeling a bit thin on the roof or hood over time. If you see a tiny spot where the paint looks like it's starting to lift or "cloud," address it now before the weather decides to make it a bigger project.

Driveway Repair Tip

Because so many I-Pace colors are metallic or "pearl" finishes (looking at you, Farallon Black), your bottle of touch-up paint is basically a snow globe of tiny metal flakes. Shake that bottle for a full two minutes-not just a quick wiggle-to wake up those sparkles so they don't all sit at the bottom.

When applying, don't try to fill the chip in one go. Think of it like building a sandwich: apply a thin layer, let it dry for 15 minutes, and repeat. If you're working with a pearl tricoat like Ostuni White, it requires some patience to get the depth right, but thin layers will always look better than a thick blob that stands out like a sore thumb. Once the color is level, a tiny dab of clear coat on top will keep that Jaguar shine protected from the elements.
