How to Find Your Kia Forte's Color Code

Kia codes are easy to find as they are always on the drivers door jamb. Typical format: B3. Example mapping: B3 Mica Blue Metallic Clearcoat. Same Color Code, Different Name: Kia, like all manufacturers, uses the exact same color across many models and then will have a different color name for each model. This is why the color code is so important to order the correct paint. For example, B3, above we call Mica Blue Metallic Clearcoat. It could also be called Blue Clearcoat, Light Mist Clearcoat, etc.

The Color Breakdown

Kia definitely didn't play it safe with the Forte, recording a whopping 51 colors over the years. They really went for it with high-energy shades like Electric Orange Metallic and Spicy Red Metallic, but they also nailed the moody vibes with Gravity Blue Pearl and Abyss Blue Pearl. Whether your car looks like it belongs on a racetrack or in a stealth hangar, there's a lot of personality packed into these finishes.

What to Watch For

The Forte's paint is famously "polite"-meaning it's a bit soft and prone to being bullied by highway gravel, so expect to find some chips on the nose. If you're driving one of the Snow White versions, keep an eye on the roofline and the seams where the bumper meets the body; these whites have a bit of a reputation for wanting to flake off in sheets. To find your exact match, open your driver's door and look at the sticker on the jamb. You're looking for a tiny 2 or 3-character code (like SWP or ABP) sitting right next to the word "PAINT" or "EXT."

Driveway Repair Tip

Because so many Forte colors are heavy on the pearls and metallics-I'm looking at you, Aurora Black Pearl-your best friend is a stopwatch. Shake your touch-up bottle for a full two minutes before you even think about opening it; you need to wake up those metallic flakes so they don't stay clumped at the bottom. When you go to fill a chip, don't try to "paint" it in one go. Use the tip of your applicator to place a tiny dot of paint in the center of the chip and let it flow outward. It requires patience, but two thin layers will always look better than one giant, gloopy mountain of paint.
