What to Watch For

Your Sportage's paint is a bit of a diva-beautiful to look at, but it requires some protection. The clear coat on the plastic bits (like the rear spoiler, side mirrors, and door handles) has been known to get a little "flaky" if left in the sun too long, and the front hood is a bit of a magnet for rock chips. To find your exact match, open the driver's door and check the black VIN sticker on the center pillar. Look for a 2 or 3-digit code (like GWP for Snow White or HW2 for Casa White) usually located under the "Paint" heading.

Driveway Repair Tip

Because many Sportage colors are pearls or metallics, those tiny sparkles like to settle at the bottom of the bottle while it sits on your shelf. Shake your touch-up pen or brush for a full 60 seconds-seriously, time it-to make sure the metallic flakes are fully invited to the party. When applying, use the "less is more" rule. Instead of one big glob, apply a tiny dab, let it sit for 15 minutes, and then add another thin layer if needed.
