How to Find Your 2011 Land-Rover's Color Code

Later model Land Rovers have paint codes on the drivers door jamb. Older models usually have them under the front hood on the radiator support. Codes may appear as short alphanumeric strings like LRC961 or HAF; both can refer to the same color on one vehicle. Example: LRC961 HAF corresponds to Epsom Green Clearcoat. Labels may show either LRC961 or HAF. On older cars, locations include both the drivers door jamb and the radiator support.

2011 Land-Rover Background Info

The 2011 Land-Rover Vibe

By 2011, Land Rover had perfected the "Tractor in a Tuxedo" aesthetic. Whether you were piloting a boxy LR4 through a suburban carpool lane or wafting along in a Range Rover Sport, you were doing it in style. With 20 colors in our database for this year, it's clear the factory wasn't shy about variety. You had everything from the military-adjacent Keswick Green and Galway Green Metallic to the high-society shimmer of Ipanema Sand Metallic and Nara Bronze Metallic. It was an era of sophisticated earth tones and gemstone pearls-paint jobs designed to look just as good covered in Highland muck as they did under the valet lights at a steakhouse.

Paint Health Check

Welcome to the "Thin Paint Era." By 2011, the factory robots had become masters of efficiency, meaning they applied just enough paint to look brilliant in the showroom, but not a micron more than necessary. While colors like Santorini Black Pearl and Bali Blue Pearl have incredible depth, the clear coat is surprisingly delicate. On the flat-fronted LR4 and Range Rover, the upright hood and grille are absolute magnets for stone chips. If you're looking at the roof of a 2011 that spent its life outside, you're likely seeing the beginning of "clouding"-that hazy precursor to the clear coat finally giving up the ghost and peeling away from the base color.

Restoration Tip

Because these factory coats are applied so thinly, your repair strategy needs to be "stealth," not "spackle." When you're filling in those inevitable stone chips on the hood, build your layers slowly and don't blob it. If you go too heavy with a single drop, the repair will sit higher than the thin factory finish, creating a visible bump that catches the light. Use several micro-coats, allowing each to dry, until you're just level with the surrounding paint. This mimics the factory's "robot efficiency" and ensures your touch-up doesn't stick out like a sore thumb on a luxury rig.
