Lexus decided to give the LX 570 a wardrobe of 24 different colors, ranging from the adventurous Nori Green Pearl (finally, an SUV that matches your favorite sushi roll) to approximately fifteen different shades of "Stately Executive." Whether you're rocking Matador Red Tricoat or the ultra-sparkly White Nova GF Pearl Tricoat, they really went for it with the depth of these finishes. It's a lot of paint for a lot of truck.

What to Watch For

Lexus paint is legendary for its shine, but it's also a bit of a "sensitive soul." The clear coat is famously soft, which is a polite way of saying that if a pebble even looks at that massive hood the wrong way, you're going to get a chip. If you have Blizzard Pearl or Super White, keep a close eye on the door handles and the edges of the roof; these areas are known for a bit of premature peeling. To find your specific color code, open the driver's door and look at the VIN sticker on the jamb. You're looking for a three-digit code following the letters "C/TR" (like 070 or 212).

Driveway Repair Tip

Since so many of these colors-like Sonic Titanium or Eminence White-are Tricoats or "Glass Flake" finishes, they require a bit more patience than a standard flat black. When you're using your touch-up pen, shake that bottle for a full 60 seconds (set a timer!) to wake up the metallic flakes so they don't all sit at the bottom. Instead of trying to fill a chip in one heavy glob, apply two or three "whisper-thin" layers, letting each one dry for 15 minutes. It's much easier to build up the color than it is to deal with a big, sapphire-colored teardrop running down your fender.
