On these Pontiacs, "delamination" is the name of the game. It starts as a tiny white splotch where the clear coat decides it's done being friends with the base coat, and before you know it, your roof looks like it's suffering from a permanent sunburn. Once that clear starts flaking off in silver-dollar-sized sheets, you aren't just looking at a touch-up; you're looking at a full-blown "sand-it-to-the-metal" disaster.

That's how a 2mm nick becomes a 2-inch peel. If you see a chip, clean it out and get our color and clear on there before the edges start to lift. If the clear has already started to cloud or bubble, you'll need to lightly scuff the edges with 800-grit to "stop the bleed" before you apply your touch-up.
