Suzuki X-90 Paint Info
The Color Breakdown
Suzuki only gave us 7 colors for the X-90, but they really went for it with the 90s vibes. From the cosmic Saturn Black Metallic and Mercury Silver Metallic to the vibrant Aqua Green Metallic and Antares Red, these colors were designed to stand out in a grocery store parking lot. If you're rocking the British Green Pearl, you've got one of the classiest versions of this "high-top sneaker" on wheels.
What to Watch For
The X-90 is basically a glass-roofed T-top sunroom, which means the paint on the hood, the narrow roof strips, and the trunk lid takes a beating from the sun. You'll often see the Antares Red starting to look a little "pasty" or pink, and the clear coat on those horizontal surfaces can get brittle and start to flake away like a bad sunburn. Before you start, find your color code-it's usually hanging out on a metal plate on the firewall (the back wall of the engine bay) or tucked inside the driver's side door jamb. If it's not in either spot, check the glove box; Suzuki loved a good scavenger hunt.
Driveway Repair Tip
Since most of these shades are metallic or pearlescent, the secret is in the shake. Those tiny sparkles settle at the bottom of your touch-up bottle faster than you'd think. Shake that bottle for a full two minutes-long after you think you're done-to wake up the metallic flakes. When applying, don't try to fill a deep chip in one go. Dabs are your friend. Apply a thin layer, let it dry for twenty minutes, and come back for a second pass. It requires patience to get the depth right, but your X-90 will thank you for not leaving it with a "blob" of Reddish Blue Metallic on its nose.
