How to Find Your Toyota Camry's Color Code

On all Toyota models, the color ID plate is on the drivers door jamb. It shows the letters C/TR and then the paint code. Example: C/TR 3P1 FA09. The color code is 3P1; FA09 is not part of the color code and is an interior option code. For example, 3P1 is Impulse Red Metallic Clearcoat; names may vary like Red Metallic Clearcoat or Wine Metallic Clearcoat. The color code can also be obtained from a dealer using the VIN.

The Color Breakdown

Toyota hasn't just built a car with the Camry; they've built a rolling library of colors. With 200 colors recorded over the years, they really went for it. You've got everything from the fleet-standard Super White 2 to the surprisingly deep Magnetic Gray Metallic and the flashy Blue Streak Metallic. Whether your Camry is "Sensible Professional" or "Hidden Speedster," there is a very specific formula behind that shine.

What to Watch For

Before you start dabbling with that touch-up brush, you need your "C/TR" code. You'll find it on the driver's side door jamb-look for a white sticker with a barcode; the three-digit code is usually right after the "C/TR" (Color/Trim) label.

A heads-up for Camry owners: Toyota's modern water-based paints are environmentally friendly but can be a bit "soft." This means they tend to pick up tiny road-debris chips on the hood and front bumper more often than a vintage tank. Also, if you're driving a Super White or Blizzard Pearl model, keep a close eye on the roof and pillars. Those specific shades have been known to flake if left to the mercy of the sun for too long, so catching a small chip early with your touch-up pen is the best way to keep the rest of the paint anchored down.

Driveway Repair Tip

Since so many Camry colors are heavy on the metallic flakes or pearl effects (looking at you, Wind Chill Pearl), your biggest secret weapon is a timer. Shake your touch-up bottle or pen for a full 60 seconds-and I mean a real minute, not a "fast" minute. This wakes up the mica and metallic bits that settle at the bottom.

When applying, remember that three thin, translucent layers are always better than one big, gloopy "blob" of paint. If you're working with a tri-coat color (like the pearls), the match requires patience. Apply your base color, let it dry until it's no longer tacky, and then add your mid-coat sparingly to build up that factory shimmer.
