How to Find Your 2000 Winnebago's Color Code

Colors for Winnebago, Itasca, Rialta and ERA motorhomes are listed at the provided link. The paint color code may be hard to find on the vehicle, sometimes well hidden behind parts, and some vehicles do not have color codes at all. Winnebago can be called to ask where the code is and for the PPG paint formula number or the Dupont paint formula number. Some situations require direct contact with Winnebago.

2000 Winnebago Background Info

The 2000 Winnebago Vibe

Welcome to the Y2K era, where we all thought computers would melt down, but the only thing actually melting was the clear coat on your Adventurer or Minnie Winnie. Winnebago went absolutely wild with the palette this year, giving us a staggering 21 colors to chase. We moved away from the boring tans of the '90s and dove headfirst into the high-tech millennium look. If you weren't rocking Silver Metallic, you were probably parked in something moody like Plum Haze Metallic or the deep Cyprus Green Metallic. It was a time of "luxury metallics," where every coach was trying to look like a private jet, even if it was just hauling the grandkids to the Grand Canyon.

Paint Health Check

We are firmly in The Peeling Era. By the year 2000, Winnebago had fully committed to the basecoat/clearcoat system. It looked deep and glossy on the showroom floor, BUT the bond between that color and the clear wasn't always a lifetime contract. On these rigs, "delamination" is the villain. If you look at the upper caps or the "brow" above the windshield, you'll likely see the clear coat lifting in sheets like a bad sunburn. Those beautiful metallic flakes in Opal Blue or Canyon Red are sitting ducks once that top layer fails-without the clear coat to act as a UV shield, the base paint will go from "metallic masterpiece" to "chalky mess" in a single summer.

Restoration Tip

The golden rule for this era: Seal chips immediately before the clear lifts. Once air and moisture get under the edge of a rock chip, they start "tunneling," which is how a tiny speck becomes a dinner-plate-sized peel by next season. If you've got a Titanium or Graphite coach with a chip, don't wait for the weekend. Clean it out, dab your touch-up color, and make sure you're using a high-solid solvent clear to lock that edge down. If the clear has already started to flake, you've got to feather sand the edges of the "crater" before applying any fresh product, or your new paint will just hitch a ride on the old peeling skin.
