While these new finishes are very hard, older classic models use a softer paint that is a bit easier to sand and polish.

This paint sprays on very smoothly, but you need to be careful with the layers. Because the clear coat is so hard, it is best to apply several thin, even coats rather than one thick one. If you are working with a matte "Magno" finish, remember that you cannot buff or polish it at all, or you will ruin the flat look and make it shiny.
